I wouldnt' shoot anything through mesh, but especially mechanicals. The people I know that shoot through mesh tend to go with muzzys or slicks, something small. I use a ground blind a lot, but shooting through the mesh just seems so weird. People say it doesn't effect arrow flight, though.
